We are recruiting for our client. The company is based in Utrecht and is the market leader in fare collection systems for public transportation, fuel retailing, and access control. They offer a wide range of products and services such as parking meters, ticket vending machines, payment processing systems, and software solutions.
As a Senior Application Support Engineer you will report to the Manager IT Services on progress and any issues encountered during the execution of tasks. You will be a part of the IT Services team responsible for the performance and monitoring of transaction processing for all bank card and public transport chip card payments for public transport, available to internal and external stakeholders. A fi nancial traveler transaction follows a complex route through the system landscape and many things can go wrong along the way. Timely detection, resolution, and above all, prevention of incidents in this transaction processing is crucial.
Development and Operations (DevOps) work together to further develop the system, keep it stable, manage incidents, and execute hotfi xes. As a Senior Application Support Engineer you manage unexpected situations where the user has found an issue in the service they are using. The team ensures that this is resolved and prevented. With problem management, the root cause of the issue is investigated and incidents are proactively prevented. You contribute to achieving departmental objectives and SLA agreements for customer service and thereby users.
Responsibilities:
● Ensuring smooth transaction flow of tap trip payments
● Use and manage tooling for transaction flows and monitoring & alerting via Dynatrace
● Conduct in depth analysis and database management
● Handle standby duties and provide support during incidents
● Experience managing and supporting OTL applications, including Java-based systems and various databases such as Oracle, Cassandra, and Postgres
● Scripting skills like bash, powershell.
● Linux experience
● Jira/Confluence or other collaboration tools
